Home Front:

Worcester V.C. Dead – Dolday’s Hero’s End – Dolday still makes a brave show with its flags and streamers and bunting, but today its heart is sad and cold; from its height of elation at the honour won by one of its sons it has today sunk to the lowest dejection. For its idol is dead. Fred Dancox, whose glory was published to the world on November 27th (exactly three weeks ago), fell in action and his death is mourned not only by his family, but by Dolday as a whole.

Feeding Fowls With Corn – Labourer Fined £5 at Pershore – Frank Stephens (25) Labourer, Broughton Hackett, was summoned for using wheat for the purpose of feeding fowls and ducks at Grafton Flyford on December 4TH and William Cowley, farmer, Jasper’s Farm, Grafton Flyford, was summoned for aiding and abetting on the offence.
