16th December 1917 - War Honours – Military Medals for Worcestershires

War Front:

1st Batt: Batt had Divine Service Parade.

4th Batt: There was no C of E Service but a Non-conformist service at 10am and a Roman Catholic service at 10.30am.

2/7th Batt: Batt did more salvage work in am. Batt relieved in the evening by 2/1st Bucks and moved back to Havringcourt Wood. Re-enforcement joined of 3 other ranks (signallers) from 274th Infantry Brigade.

2/8th Batt: 1 other rank went to England for a commission. Batt relieved by 2/4th Berks and 1 platoon of Glos. Men returned to Havringcourt Wood.

10th Batt: Batt in reserve. 2 other ranks killed and 3 wounded.

Home Front:

War Honours – Military Medals for Worcestershires - A long list of non-commissioned officers and men honoured for gallantry and distinguished service in the field is given in the “London Gazette” issued today.

Concert At The College For The Blind – In aid of St Dunstan’s Hostel – An enjoyable concert was given in aid of St Dunstan’s Hostel for blinded soldiers and sailors. An interesting and varied programme had been arranged. Many of the contributors to the programme were encored and their response to the applause gave much satisfaction.
