Droitwich Town Council – Schools Without Coal - Reports were read from the Food Control and Coal (Retail Prices) Committee; Mr Evans said that the schools had been without coal, the children having to be sent back home and he thought it was a disgrace to the borough.

Worcester Farmers’ Views - A meeting of the Worcester Branch of the National Farmers’ Union was held at the Star Hotel. Referring to the question of security of tenure raised at the County War Agricultural Committee, Mr Parkes said the matter was of the greatest importance to tenant farmers. It was a confounded shame that farmers should be ordered on the one hand by the Government to break up turf in order to produce more food and on the other hand should be threatened by the landlord that if they did so they would have to pay more rent.
