4th November 1917 - Battalion proceeds to trenches near Hollebeeke

War Front:

2nd Batt: A wiring demonstration was held at Wulverghem. There was also PT and gas training.

4th Batt: Church Parade at 10am. During pm the CO and 2nd in Command rode over to see a demonstration of tanks working with infantry. Capt DJF McCarthy re-joined from Army School.

10th Batt: Batt proceeded to trenches, relieving the 7th South Lancs in the Line in the right sub-sector, near Hollebeeke. Batt conveyed as far as St Eloi by bus.

Yeomanry /Cavalry: A patrol sent out at dawn found the enemy who attempted to push forward at 5am. Relief was promised early but none came and the horses had not had water since the previous am and there was no shade. The New Zealand Mounted Rifles arrived at 9pm and wounded men were carried down the mountain by hand and put on hand-carts
