Quiet Revolution
25th April 2015 at Bromsgrove Town Centre
"The First World War brought about a quiet social revolution on the Home Front. Women were fighting the Great War on their own doorstep. Enduring loss, adversity and hardship, they discovered a new sense of purpose and dignity in comradeship, delicate-activism, unity and liberation.
Performed by Dancefest's adult performance company, DFA, alongside community dance groups, Quiet Revolution was originally created for Kidderminster Arts Festival in August 2014, by dancers from Rock Creative Chance to Dance, Dancefest Creatives and choreographer Marie Oldaker, with the aim of performing the piece across the region, each time working with new performers from the local community.
This performance is part of a special day in Bromsgrove as it celebrates St George's Day and Artrix's 10th anniversary.
Quiet Revolution in Bromsgrove is jointly commissioned by Bromsgrove District Council and KAF (Kidderminster Arts Festival). Artrix is a partner in the day's event.
There will be two performances in Bromsgrove High Street, the first at 2.15pm followed by another at 3.40pm."
