Join Dancefest for a Quiet Revolution as part of Watch Out Worcester

21st July 2017

The Worcestershire World War One Hundred programme has supported Dancefest to develop a Quiet Revolution for Watch Out Worcester on Saturday 22 July from 12noon and on Sunday 23 July at National Trust Croome at 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm.

Two of Dancefest’s performance groups, DFA and Chance to Dance Company have come together to perform a stirring and poignant piece of dance theatre that highlights how the First World War fundamentally changed the roles of women.

The First World War brought about a quiet social revolution on the Home Front. Women were fighting the Great War on their own doorstep. Enduring loss, adversity and hardship, they discovered a new sense of purpose and dignity in comradeship, delicate-activism, unity and liberation.

Watch Out Worcester is a new free event for the city. Visitors to Worcester on Saturday 22 July can expect theatre, dance, music, spoken word and visual arts in outdoor and unusual spaces, created and performed by local and visiting artists and companies.
