Talk on the Battle of the Somme

The Friends of the Mercian Regiment Museum (Worcestershire) will be hosting a talk on the Battle of the Somme 1916, by Peter Gwilliam on Wednesday 5 October.

The title of the talk is "The Battle of the Somme 1916: The actions at La Boisselle and Beaumont Hamel". Peter Gwilliam, former Head of Politics at the King's School, Worcester is a specialist on the First World War and in particular the Somme battlefield.

The talk takes place at St Richard's Hospice, Wildwood Drive, Worcester, WR5 2QT  and starts at 7.00pm. St Richard's Hospice is off the A4440 just before the Spetchley turn.

The event is open to the public.

Members of the public: £5 per ticket on the door which includes free parking at St Richard's Hospice and a complimentary drink.

Members of the Friends: free.

The Friends of the Mercian Regiment Museum (Worcestershire) exist to promote the work of the Regimental Museum and to help raise funds for its activities. The museum itself is represented by the Worcestershire Soldier Gallery in the Worcester City Museum & Art Gallery on Foregate Street, Worcester.
