13th May 1917 - Training programme in bombing, attacking and firing on the range.

War Front:
1st Batt: Sunday church Parade for C of E at 6pm.
3rd Batt: In accordance with our instructions from the 7th Infantry Brigade, an attempt was made to rush the enemy post in the crater to the left of Broadmarsh Crater, by 1 officer and 4 men. The post was stronger than anticipated so they threw bombs and fired into the crater and then withdrew.
4th Batt: Church Parade-2 Coys at 9.30am, 2 at 11.30am. At 7.30pm 2 Coys marched up and wired the strong posts near La Bergere Farm. A great deal of salvage was collected including 2 Lewis guns and many corpses were buried.
2/7th Batt: Church Parade at 6pm. One man was killed and 2nd Lt Constantine died from his wounds.
10th Batt: Batt on Coys training programme in bombing, attacking and firing on the range. Working party of 3 officers and 150 other ranks and 4 officers and 160 other ranks were unloading ammunition.
