War Front: 2nd Batt: Divine Service at 9., taken by Rev EV Tanner, in the football field.

2/7th Batt: A rugby football match versus the 2/4th Glos was played at 5.30pm. Glos won by 2 tries to nil.

2/8th Batt: 2nd Lt G Pritchard, Lt RH Stallard were awarded the Military Cross.

10th Batt: Winter clothing and 2nd blankets were returned to ordnance.

SMD RFA: B and C Coys were shelled from 7.30 am until 11 am so personnel were withdrawn to a flank. Little damage was done but 1 man was wounded. There was plenty of action when 211 Brigade relieved the 241. At dusk the wagon lines went to Bouchy.

Yeomanry/Cavalry: The heat was appalling and there were violent dust storms.

Home Front: WORCESTER CITY COUNCIL – Day Nursery to be Established – The Sub Committee of the Health Committee appointed to consider the question of providing a day nursery, recommend the Council to take a lease of 33 Foregate Street, for the proposed nursery, for a term of two years, at the annual rent of £70., subject to the owners carrying out the repairs and alterations pointed out by the Medical Officer, at an estimated cost of £100.

ALLOTMENTS FOR EVESHAM MEN – Effort of Social Service Union – The great need of gardens in which the Evesham people can grow vegetables for their families is a discovery recently made by the Evesham Inter-Denominational Social Service Union, which has shown much useful activity since it’s foundation. Over 120 applications for land had been received, and a scheme would be unfolded. For the first time in the town all the Churches were working heartily together for the welfare of the citizens.
