24th September 1916 - Milk needed in the isolation hospitals

2nd Batt: A and B Coys relieved by C and D Coys.

4th Batt: Divine service parade at 10.45-a glorious day.

2/7th Batt: Batt attended Church Parade.

The Vicar of Old Hill (the Rev. E. Brewer) has been appointed Honorary Canon of Worcester Cathedral. He was ordained in 1872, and has held his present appointment since 1883. Although eighty years of age, he is still an active worker.

City of Worcester – Isolation Hospitals: The Health Committee invite Tenders to supply Milk to the City Hospitals at Newtown and Elbury, during the six months ending the 31st March, 1917. Tenders must be upon the authorised form, which can be obtained at the Health Department, Guildhall (Copenhagen Street entrance). Tenders to be sent to the Town Clerk’s Office, on or before the 3rd October, 1916. The Committee will not necessarily accept any Tender. BY ORDER OF THE HEALTH COMMITTEE.

A Territorial’s Commission: Francis Henry Heppell, (a son of the late Mr. Heppel, of Messrs. W.D. Deighton and Co.}, having served for two years with a Worcestershire Territorial Battalion, has now been gazetted 2nd Lieut, in the Royal Engineers, and has joined his unit in France.
