Licensing Committee and Bus Accident – We are requested to state that at the conclusion of the inquest on Miss Mabel Priest, on Tuesday last, the Licensing Committee of the Urban District Council held a meeting with regard to the buses running in the centre of town and to consider what steps should be taken to minimise as far as possible any danger to the public.. The Committee came to the conclusion that although the driver and conductor of the bus which caused the accident had been exonerated from all blame, it was desirable that the buses should not in future turn on the Belle Vue Terrace and other arrangements were made accordingly. In view, also, of the shortage of petrol and the use of substitutes, it was felt that an undue strain should not be put on buses going up Church Street; and it was decided that until other arrangements could be made all passengers from Barnards Green might alight at the Club, and regain their bus on Belle Vue Terrace.
