‘Pygmalion’ at the Theatre Royal

When Mr. Bernard Shaw's play, ‘Pygmalion’ was produced, a good deal was said about one of the swear words in it. A reading of the play dispels the notion at once. The utterance of the word is a mere incident in the play, and it occurs quite naturally in a situation of exceptional interest.

Alfred Doolittle, a character after Mr Shaw's own heart, attacks some of the conventions and notions of middle-class life and is very funny on all occasions.

National Egg Collection

Seven hundred and twenty one eggs were collected at the Guildhall last week. Nearly 4,000 eggs have been collected by the Guildhall in a month. Yet more eggs are required for the wounded in the hospital at the base. There are a lot of villages near Worcester, each of which requires a collector, who will undertake to do such good work as is being done at Broadwas, Broadheath, Inkberrow, Kempsey, Powick, Callow End and Grafton Flyford.
