10th October 1915 - Bicycle thief in Kidderminster

5th Brigade moved forward from rest billets around Essars and took over trenches to the north of Hohenzollern Redoubt with two of its battalions

A bad lot at Kidderminster. George Tomlinson (57) stonemason, was charged with stealing a bicycle, value £5…The prisoner…said his downfall was marrying a bad woman.. He had a son fighting at the front. The chairman said that the man seemed to have an affection for bicycles as this was the fifth he had stolen. He was a thoroughly bad lot and would be sentenced to 12 months hard labour
