On the front:

"2nd Batt: Brigade took over trenches held by the 19th Brigade and went to new billets at Annelin. 3rd Batt:; Damage was cause to the trenches by severe shelling at La Quinque Rue. Artillery Brigade: experiencing very bad weather at Bayencourt.

On the home front:

City Police Court. Absentees. Walter Frederick Jones, a private in the 5th Worcestershires was charged with being absent from his battalion. D S Penlington said that he found the prisoner at his home in Newport Street. Prisoner was remanded to await escort.

At the Home Front:

Emmanuel Church Missionary Sale was opened by Mrs W J Guy. The supported a native worker in Sierra Leone and paid regularly £30 for his support, The also paid £25 for Miss Trumper who was working in Peru and contributed £4 annually to support a little orphan in India.

City Police Court. Alien Registration Offence. Jane Frances Hooper (50) Commandery House, Sidbury, boarding house keeper was charged with failing to enter in a register the name and nationality of an alien, and the date of his arrival, and Herwick von Schnender Rogge, gentlemen, 74, Lowther Rd, Bournemouth was charged with failing to furnish Miss Hooper with information to sign a statement under the Aliens' Restriction Amendment Order. Mr Rogge was a Norwegian and he stayed at Miss Hooper but went away. Miss Hooper was fined 10s. Mr Rogge was fined 5s

Miss Stella Carol paid a visit to Worcester on Thursday and delighted a large audience at the Theatre Royal with her singing. Miss Carol's life story and escape from the sinking "Arabic" have done much to attract public attention to her. One is struck by the beautiful purity of her tone.
