Private Dolday of the 15th Batt. Gloucestershire Regt was charged with being an absentee. Defendant said he came to Worcester to see his child and did not like to go back because he had exceeded his leave. Defendant was remanded to await an escort. Private Timms of the 12th Batt. Worcestershire Regt was also charged with being an absentee. He also awaits an escort.

JOIN THE WORCESTERSHIRE REGIMENT! Worcestershire has a proud record in the matter of recruiting and no unnaturally, the military authorities are keenly desirous of maintaining that honour for the county. The number of recruits have, we understand, diminished lately and it is considered necessary to urge the county to stronger efforts to keep the flow of volunteers up to the high level of the past twelve months. It is with this object that a new campaign will be initiated on Sept 21st, from which date it is proposed that military bands with recruiting officers and staff shall tour the country up to October 2nd.

Worcestershire Yeomanry. There are some vacancies in above regiment for a limited number of exceptionally good men. Apply to the recruiting office, Silver Street, Worcester or any recruiting station.
