13th September 1915 - Lady Teynham tours ravaged villages of France

1/8th Batt. - a patrol of ours was attacked by an enemy patrol close to our wire. Several grenades were thrown including a number of gas bombs; no damage was caused however.

Mr Fletcher, Worcestershire County Assistant Road Surveyor and 25 road men have been placed at the disposal of the Road Board in connection with works of road construction in Cornwall for the War Department. Lady Teynham has been making a motor tour of the Aisne, Marne and Vosges in order to investigate the needs of the villagers in the ravaged areas.
