Cyclist’s complaint: “Dear Sir, I feel it is a duty to bring to the notice of our Streets Committee the obvious danger to cyclists in passing the double tram lines at the bottom of St. George’s Square, Barbourne Road. The ruts in the road are fatal if your wheel gets in them, and during the wet weather, many were the bad falls experienced by those awheel. With the rain this evening the road is in quite a bad state again. I remember one fatal accident at this point, and I trust the Committee will instruct their Superintendent to have the necessary repairs done and thus save Barbourne “wheelers” many a nasty skid”. ‘Humberite’;

Green and Mr Walter Cheesewright, who are organising the campaign, were gratified alike by the number (which was greater than the first day’s total at Kidderminster and Stourbridge), and also by the quality of the recruits, who were of an excellent type;
