8th September 1914 - Second battalion takes German prisoners

2nd Batt: Marched in pursuit of the German Column. Arrived Rebais 7:40 am. Fired on German aeroplane. Havoc in the town, looted by Germans. Batt advanced under slight shell and rifle fire to Le Gravier (12 wounded, 18 missing) 'A' Company took 23 German prisoners. German casualties heavy;

3rd Batt: Found up at LaBoyere preparatory to forcing River Marne. Bivouacked at Bussiere.

With the CO's permission, the YMCA had placed a large tent in the Barrack Square for the use of men when off duty;

Bandmaster Mr J V Caine led a concert 'of an excellent character' in Droitwich park: The result of a silver collection amounted to about £4 for the Prince of Wales' Fund and the local Red Cross Society;

Mr H Brace Little was accepted as a motor lorry driver together with Mr J M Mallen, the foreman mechanic at Messrs Barker's Garage, Lowesmoor. They are both going to France immediately;

Mr Maund of the Conservative Association asked for Dr Salomon of 36 Barbourne Road to be removed from the list of persons entitled to vote, as an alien German who had left the district suddenly. Five other aliens were also removed from the register
