21st August 1914 - Worcestershire Battalions on the move

The 2nd Worcs. Battalion marched via Etreux to La Groise. The 3rd Worcestershire Battalion marched 18 miles through Mauberge to Feignies.

The City War Relief fund had reached £900 and the County fund £726 10s;

Recruitment meeting 'Rarely has there been witnessed in Worcester such enthusiasm as that displayed held in the Public Hall on Friday...' The hall was crowded long before the time for the meeting.

The Germans were advancing and crossing the Meuse in force between Liege and Namur. On the extreme right the French recaptured Mulhouse and the German guns.
